Simon Shepherd
“As an artist working alone and not part of a group or collective, there can be times when doubt and uncertainty creep in. Entering open competitions such as the Cork Street Open can be a good way of reaffirming the validity of your work by having it judged. If successful, it can also provide an opportunity to exhibit work to a larger audience.
My advice would be to make sure you present your work in the best possible way, taking care to produce a clear and accurate photograph. Also, not to get too disheartened by not being selected, I’m sure it happens to the best of us!”
